Adobe Illustrator is the industry’s premier vector-drawing software. This course teaches you how Illustrator is used in the Fashion sector to create detailed, technical flat drawings and how to create a specification board to clearly present your garment designs. - Use Illustrator’s ‘pen’ tool to trace and produce flat technical drawings
- Create professional drawings filled with colour and fabrics
- Add realistic effects such as style lines and garment details
For beginners or those that have a basic knowledge of Illustrator, this course is suitable for people working in the fashion sector, students, tutors or anyone interested in improving their computer design skills and learning techniques in Illustrator. All participants are required to have basic computer skills. Please bring a pen, notebook and USB stick to save your work.

Our 15-hour short courses are a great value way to learn essential design softwares. Courses take place in the FTM’s IT suite, equipped with the latest facilities and software (Adobe CS6). Taught by our team of highly experienced tutors, tuition is in small groups with a focus on your particular learning requirements. The Fashion and Textile Museum is part of Newham College London.
